A new, specially designed calculator/stopwatch will fast become a teacher's favorite tool when assessing students. The F&P Calculator/Stopwatch performs the highly specific functions related to the assessment system.

The RED START button can be pressed at the beginning of the oral reading section. Once the child has completed the oral reading section, the RED END button will be pressed. Teachers will then input:
RW (Running Words)
E (Number of Errors)
SC (Number of Self Corrections)

To obtain all the scores, the teacher will press the BLUE buttons:
Time: Length of time the child read
WPM: Reading rate in words per minute
Accur%: Accuracy Percentage
SC: Self Correction Ratio
